Cerbo should have physical connection to NMEA network!!! You can buy cable from nmea to Ve.can or make one yourself and plug it into ve.can0 or ve.can1 on your cerbo.
First of all make sure you are running the large image, which can be checked in settings-general-firmware-online updates. If you’re not running large image, there is no SignalK available. So then press check and update afterwards.

If large image is installed and you rebooted the cerbo you should have the option to switch signal ON at settings-integrations

After you enabled this, SignalK will be started in the background and after few minutes you should be able to point your browser towards http://venus.local:3000 and find the SignalK interface. Here we need to install ais-forwarder and signalk-to-nmea0183 plugin and configure our boat details (most important is name, callsign and MMSI).

Boat settings

For the udp endpoint and port we need to create an account at MarineTraffic first. After you have an account go to my account and select my stations. Create a new station and fill out the details. For lat/lon just fill in current position.

Now we need to enable both plugins:

For the udp endpoint ip and port you will receive an email from marinetraffic with the personal ones you have to use. Fill other fields stated as above…
Save all settings and restart signal.
Now soon you should see statistics in MarineTraffic on your “My Stations” page.

Have fun! And for any question or remarks please use our Socials to get in touch!
