Luna’s first crossing: Happy Captain, sick crew

On our latest episode, we left the marina. But we could not leave our Croatian friends. And we were not ready for the crossing, because we still had some things to take care of.

Tender hiccups

And that was a good thing, because our tender kept breaking down. Thankfully we have Anton to save us.

For now, when we are gone, we have to do this all for ourselves!

We enjoyed the Kastela bay for a few more days. Now, before the parental watchdogs come knocking, let me assure you that safety is always a priority onboard. While our little one, Beau, momentarily shed his life jacket for the camera, rest assured, it’s a non-negotiable accessory during our voyages—especially on the open sea.

With the tender hiccup resolved and the Nightvision camera successfully tested, we set our course from Split, Croatia, to Monopoli, Italy. But not before making a poignant stop in Vela Luka, a place brimming with cherished memories of a magical evening spent amongst friends at a memorial concert.

The contrast of our personalities

As we charted our course through the Adriatic, the sea put our resolve to the test with its rough waves and strong winds. For Daniella, who finds solace in solid ground, it was a daunting experience. But for Kay, it was an exhilarating challenge, pushing the sails to their limits in pursuit of speed.
This portrays our contrasting personalities once more:

Daniella, admittedly, harbors a fear of water, drowning, sharks—essentially, she’s apprehensive about everything aquatic. On the flip side, Kay thrives in watery environments, relishing in sailing and embracing every adventurous opportunity that comes his way.

Speaking of speed, our journey saw us reach impressive knots, accompanied by a fair share of seasickness among the crew. Yet, with each wave conquered and bucket filled, we pressed on, determined to reach our destination.

Monopoli

Finally, as the clock struck midnight, we arrived in Monopoli, Italy, marking the end of one leg of our journey and the beginning of new Italian adventures. And as tradition dictates, Kay hoisted the guest flag, a symbol of our arrival in a new land, while Daniella savored the view, relishing in the beauty of our surroundings.

Join us next time as we explore more of Italy’s wonders. If you enjoyed our voyage, don’t forget to subscribe to our channel for more thrilling escapades on the high seas.
