What started as a perfect summer day in Croatia quickly turned into the most intense storm we have ever experienced. While enjoying time around Hvar and the Pakleni Islands, Kay noticed something unusual on the raw weather charts — something the regular weather apps barely showed. Three storm cells were merging into a violent supercell, a Mediterranean nevera known for sudden force, extreme wind gusts and torrential rain. We made the decision to return to the boat.Within minutes, the sky changed completely. What followed was chaos, fear, fast decisions and pure survival. Stern lines had to be cut. Boats around us were pushed onto the rocks. Visibility dropped to zero. With four young children, four adults and a dog on board, every decision mattered. In this episode, we share the full story — honestly and without filters. Not to prove we did everything perfectly. But to show real life at sea. We reflect on what happened, what we learned, and what we would do differently next time. Because sailing isn’t just about sunsets and freedom — it’s also about respecting the power of nature, every single time. If you’re sailing, dreaming about life aboard, or simply curious about what extreme weather at sea really looks like — this episode is for you. Thank you for watching. With love,SV Luna ⚓💙 🔔 Don’t forget to subscribe We share real life aboard our sailing catamaran — the highs, the lows, and everything in between. 🧭 Filmed in Croatia | Hvar | Pakleni Islands | Adriatic Sea 🌊 Topics in this episode • Violent supercell / nevera storm• Sailing with kids• Storm preparation at anchor• Cutting stern lines• Real-life decision making at sea• Lessons learned from extreme weather
